MEET OUR PRESENTERS
Edward Marx recently joined Texas Health Resources (THR) as senior vice president and chief information officer. Prior to joining THR, Marx served as chief information officer for Information Technology and Solutions at University Hospitals. THR is one of the largest faith-based, nonprofit health care delivery systems in the United State s with more than 18,250 employees and 3,700 physicians with staff privileges. THR has 13 hospitals and 2,624 available hospital beds.
Lynne A. King, BSN, RN, MBA serves as electronic health record project director for University Hospitals in Cleveland. King has 20 years of experience in healthcare, including inpatient and ambulatory settings and large academic medical systems. She has significant experience in implementation of ambulatory and inpatient electronic health records (EHR), clinical operational redesign, and information systems project leadership. Her area of expertise is clinician adoption of information technology at the point of care through optimal integration of technologies into workflow. Currently, King directs the concurrent implementation of an ambulatory and inpatient EHR across 150 practices and six hospitals. She has been published multiple times on the topics of clinician adoption of technologies, application of emerging information technologies, and design of the digital hospital.
Bill Lucas is PACS administrator at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, WV. Lucas has worked in the field of radiology for 16 years, all of which have been at Thomas Memorial. He started his career as a radiologic technologist in diagnostic radiology in 1991 and after two years moved into the computed tomography department where he stayed for 13 years. During his time there, he was involved in the installation, support, and maintenance of a web server that provides remote image access for after-hours radiology coverage. Also during this time, he became interested in PACS and attended several vendor-neutral training courses and conferences to educate himself on the general concepts of digital imaging and distribution prior to the hospital’s venture in PACS. Since the purchase, he has also attended the vendor-specific training course related to the product purchased.
Dionne Viator is senior vice president and CFO of Baton Rouge General/General Health System in Louisiana. Viator is responsible for all financial operations for BRGMC/GHS and affiliated entities, as well as system operations, including HR, IT, facilities management, safety and risk management, corporate compliance, contracting, case management, and materials management. She also oversees hospital operations including radiology/imaging, lab, physical therapy, and nutritional care. She has been with BRGMC/GHS since 1993 and previously served as CFO and VP of finance. In her current position, Viator leads the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan and has responsibility for the development of healthcare financing strategies necessary to support the expansion and growth of the hospital and affiliated organizations.
