FEATURED SPEAKERS
Jon-David Deeson, FACHE, MSHA, MBA, is a Senior Manager at Pershing Yoakley & Associates (PYA), a healthcare consulting firm with offices in Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. He is a Fellow and Certified Healthcare Executive (CHE) through the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and has led a variety of consulting projects with physician groups and hospitals on financial, strategic and operational business matters regarding physician practices and medical staff issues. His primary areas of focus at PYA have been physician compensation, physician hospital economic alignment and financial turnaround projects. Mr. Deeson has been with PYA for over 11 years. Prior to PYA, he worked as a Regional Practice Administrator for a large integrated healthcare system managing several of their hospital-owned physician practices.
Laura Boehlke Bray, MD, serves as the physician leader of the Duluth Clinic-Spooner, a community clinic located in northwestern Wisconsin. Dr. Boehlke Bray is a board member for both SMDC and the Duluth Clinic. She is also active on several committees involving strategic planning, physician leadership, and new business initiatives for the health system. In addition to her leadership activities, Dr. Boehlke Bray works part-time as a family practice physician, seeing patients in both the clinic and hospital setting. Dr. Boehlke Bray received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University and completed her residency at the University of Minnesota-Duluth Family Practice Program. She plans to graduate from the Physician Leadership College at St. Thomas University in Minneapolis, Minn., in May 2008.
